Three processes everyone meets first
101 Goods Receipt
A supplier delivers goods against a purchase order. Posting movement type 101 increases stock, creates a material document and — for valuated stock material — an accounting document.
Order to Cash
The complete standard SD cycle: a customer order (VA01) becomes an outbound delivery (VL01N), picking and goods issue (601) reduce stock and charge cost of goods sold, and the billing document (VF01) turns the delivery into revenue and a receivable.
Production Order
The canonical PP cycle: a planned order from MRP becomes a production order, components are issued to it (261), the work is confirmed (CO11N), the finished product is received into stock (101), and settlement clears the order's variance.
How it works
One process, three layers you can see
Physical flow
Trucks, docks, pallets and storage locations move on a floor plan of the plant.
System documents
Purchase orders, material documents and accounting documents appear the moment they are created — click any of them.
Stock & accounting
Inventory changes in front of you, and the conceptual ledger shows the financial side, labelled as typical or configuration dependent.
FAQ
Questions people ask first
Is it really free? Do I need an account?
Yes, every process is free — 73 interactive processes across Materials Management (MM), Sales & Distribution (SD), Production Planning (PP), Extended Warehouse Management (EWM). There are no accounts and no sign-up. Your progress, bookmarks, notes and quiz scores are saved only in your own browser.
How do I keep my progress if I change device or browser?
Open My progress and choose “Export my progress”. That downloads a small file; import it on the other device. Clearing your browser's site data deletes your progress, so export a backup now and then.
Is this an official SAP product or simulator?
No. ERPTwin is an independent educational product. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by SAP SE, and it does not connect to any SAP system.
What if I spot a mistake?
Use “Report a mistake” on the process page. It opens an email with the process name already filled in. Corrections are checked and published as a new content version.
Will what I see match my company's SAP system exactly?
Not always. The simulations show standard SAP behaviour. Where results depend on configuration — account determination, tolerances, stock types — the product says so explicitly instead of presenting one answer as universal.
Which SAP versions are covered?
Each process notes differences between SAP ECC, S/4HANA (private / on-premise) and S/4HANA Public Cloud where they matter, such as material document tables or how configuration is maintained.
Does a 3D simulation work on my phone?
Yes. The twin adapts to small screens, and every simulation also has a lightweight 2D view for older devices, slow networks, reduced-motion settings or when WebGL is unavailable.
Is the accounting shown my real G/L posting?
No. Accounting is shown as conceptual or typical postings (for example Dr Inventory / Cr GR/IR clearing). Real G/L accounts come from your system's automatic account determination.
